Pool Safety Tips

  1. Learn to swim: If you or your family members don’t know how to swim, consider taking swimming lessons. Knowing how to swim can help prevent drowning and other accidents in the pool.

  2. Always supervise children: Never leave children unattended in or near the pool, even for a few seconds. Make sure to always supervise them and be within arm’s reach if they are young.

  3. Install a fence: Install a fence around the pool area to prevent children and pets from accidentally falling in. The fence should be at least 4 feet high and have a self-closing self-latching gate.

  4. Have safety equipment nearby: Keep safety equipment, such as a life ring, shepherd’s hook, and first aid kit, nearby in case of emergency.

  5. Keep the area clear: Keep the area around the pool clear of toys, furniture, and other hazards that could cause someone to trip and fall.

  6. Don’t run around the pool: Running around the pool area can be dangerous and cause slips and falls, Make sure everyone walks calmly around the pool.

  7. Don’t dive in shallow water: Make sure the depth of the water is appropriate for diving. Don’t allow diving in shallow water. or areas where the water is not deep enough.

  8. Don’t swim alone: Avoid swimming alone. Always have someone with you in case of an emergency.

  9. Learn CPR: Learn CPR in case of an emergency. Knowing how to perform CPR can be lifesaving in a drowning or near-drowning situation.
